Traditional big-screen televisions are simply too large and too heavy. A plasma display panel delivers superior image quality in an ultra-thin package. The hardest decision to make is what to do with all the space you regain!

Summary: Not bad for a beginner
Comment: We purchased this tv right after the Christmas holiday. We didin't know much about plasma, but knew we did not want to replace our burned out rear projection witht he same type. We also didn't have a ton of money, so we looked at this model on sale at a local electronics store. We purchased, had the tv mounted to the wall and we were watching within a few hours. This tv has a beautiful picture, we purchased some higher end cables to clarify the picture from our dvd player, and we are in love with movies on this tv. If you don't want to spend the money for high definition, and want to enter the field of plasma without breaking the family budget, we strongly recommend this tv to get you started!

Useful information: Do I need a TV with an integrated HDTV tuner?

Not necessarily. Displaying HDTV does require a special signal converter either built into the TV (an integrated tuner) or as an external box that may come from the cable or satellite company that provides your HDTV service.
TVs with integrated tuners can receive any locally broadcast HDTV signals via an antenna without any additional equipment, but they usually cost more. "HDTV-ready" TVs accept HDTV signals but they do not have an internal tuner and so require an external signal converter.
